Árvakr and Alsviðr Árvakr ok Alsviðr
The two horses that pull the sun across the sky, cooled by an 'iron cool' that the gods set under their yokes.

The primeval cow of Snorri's creation story: she fed the giant Ymir with her milk and licked Búri, grandfather of Odin, out of the salty ice.

The dragon that gnaws the root of Yggdrasil from below and feeds on the dead at Náströnd; at the end of Völuspá it flies up with corpses on its wings.
Otr
Son of Hreiðmarr who fished in otter shape; Loki killed him with a stone, and the gold paid for his death carries Andvari's curse.
Ratatoskr
The squirrel that runs up and down Yggdrasil carrying words, and in Snorri envious words, between the eagle at the top and the dragon Níðhöggr at the roots.
Sæhrímnir
The beast whose meat feeds the warriors of Valhalla; Snorri says it is a boar, cooked every day and whole again by evening.
